Any member of the genus Orbivirus, comprising reoviruses with distinctive ring-shaped capsomeres, which are arthropod-borne pathogens of mammals and birds, causing a number of serious diseases of livestock including African horse sickness and bluetongue. Also (in form Orbivirus): the genus itself.
