Oconee bells

A small herbaceous plant, Shortia galacifolia (family Diapensiaceae), found in the southern Appalachians (where it is very rare) and cultivated elsewhere as a rockery plant for its small, white, bell-shaped flowers and evergreen foliage, resembling that of galax.
