Each of six isomeric compounds, C10H6O2, notionally obtained by replacing two of the ≧CH groups of naphthalene by carbonyl groups; specifically (more fully 1,4-naphthoquinone, α-naphthoquinone) a volatile yellow solid whose molecule forms part of the structure of vitamin K.
