Nabothian cyst noun a cyst containing secreted fluid which forms following obstruction of a mucous gland of the uterine cervix. Also Nabothian follicle, †Nabothian gland.
Origin
Mid 19th century; earliest use found in Robert Mayne (1808–1868). From the name of Martin Naboth, German anatomist and physician, who described these cysts in 1707 + -ian.
