English plantain

Either of two plantains of the genus Plantago: ( North American ) ribwort plantain, P. lanceolata, commonly occurring as a weed of cultivated land, and ( Caribbean ) greater plantain, P. major (to distinguish it from food plantains of the genus Musa).
