The wood of any of several tropical trees, especially Parapiptadenia rigida of South America, Daviesia arborea of north-east Australia (both of the family Fabaceae (Leguminosae)), and Davidsonia pruriens (family Davidsoniaceae) of Queensland.
Origin
Late 19th century; earliest use found in Robert Hunt (1807–1887), chemist and photographer.
