Attributive and in the genitive. Designating the diagnostic manoeuvre of compressing the jugular veins while measuring cerebrospinal fluid pressure, which results in a rapid rise in the pressure unless there is obstruction in the subarachnoid space.
Origin
1920s; earliest use found in Richard John Ernst Scott (1863–1932). From the name of Hans Heinrich Queckenstedt, German physician, who described the procedure.
