From Moh, former transliteration of the first element of the name of Mozi (Chinese Mòzǐ; Wade-Giles transcription Mò-tzǔ, 470–391 b.c.), Chinese philosopher, or of his full name Mo Di (Chinese Mò Dí; Wade-Giles transcription Mò Tí) + -ism.
