Of, relating to, or characteristic of a pseudoprophet or pseudoprophecy; that is a pseudoprophet.
Origin
Mid 17th century; earliest use found in Henry More (1614–1687), philosopher, poet, and theologian. From pseudo- + prophetic, after pseudoprophet. Compare Byzantine Greek or Hellenistic Greek ψευδοπροϕητικός, post-classical Latin pseudopropheticus (early 3rd cent. in Tertullian).
