Definition of Turkana, Lake in English: Turkana, Lakeproper noun A salt lake in north-western Kenya, with no outlet. It was visited in 1888 by the Hungarian explorer Count Teleki (1845–1916), who named it Lake Rudolf after the Crown Prince of Austria. It was given its present name in 1979.
