Definition of Sarnoff, David in US English: Sarnoff, Davidproper nounˈsärˌnôf-ˌnäf (1891–1971), US broadcaster and businessman; born in Russia. A pioneer in the development of radio and television broadcasting in the US, he worked for the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) from 1919, founding the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) as part of it in 1926. He then served as president and chairman of RCA 1930–70.
