(born 1943), US Marine Corps officer. In 1986, he provided testimony to Congress on the Iran-Contra affair, saying that he believed that all of his activities as chief negotiator were authorized by his superiors. In 1989, he was found guilty on three charges, but these were later vacated. He subsequently became an author and radio commentator.
