(1926–2014), Northern Irish clergyman and politician, First Minister of Northern Ireland 2007–8; full name Ian Richard Kyle Paisley. MP for North Antrim from 1970–2010 and co-founder of the Ulster Democratic Unionist Party (1972), he was an outspoken defender of the Protestant Unionist position.
