(1920–2000), American actor, of Jewish-Russian parentage; born Walter Matuschanskavas. His early success on Broadway in plays including Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (1965, filmed 1968) was followed by a long and successful career in films such as The Sunshine Boys (1975).
