On the southeastern border of WY, northeast of Cheyenne; created Feb 9, 1911 from Platte and Laramie counties. Name Origin: For Goshen Hole Valley, which was probably named for the Biblical Egyptian home of the Israelites before the Exodus; generally interpreted as 'land of abundance or plenty.'
