Almén's test

Almén's test

(1) Guaiac test, see there.
(2) A test described by August Theodor Andersson Almén (1833–1903), a Swedish physiologist, formerly used to detect urinary albumin; currently used tests for urine proteins rely on protein error of pH indicators (reagent strip method), protein precipitation (turbidometric methodology) and biuret methods (multichannel automated analysis).
