Gemella haemolysans

The type species for Gemella. G haemolysans is a gram-positive coccus which causes beta-haemolysis on blood agar, fermenting glucose, fructose and other sugars. It has been isolated from bronchial secretions and dental plaque and is a known human pathogen.
