Glashow, Sheldon L.

Glashow, Sheldon L. (Lee)

(1932– ) physicist; born in New York City. He worked at Copenhagen (1958–60) and several California institutions before joining Harvard (1967). He won the 1979 Nobel Prize in physics (shared with A. Salam and S. Weinberg) for his contributions to theories of electrodynamic forces and to the quantum chromodynamic theory of quarks. He continued to teach and pursue electrodynamic interactions.
