Frolov, Konstantin Vasil’evich
Born July 22, 1932, in Kirov, Kaluga Oblast. Soviet authority on machine vibrations. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1976). Member of the CPSU since 1965.
After graduating from the Briansk Institute of Transportation Machine Building in 1956, Frolov joined the staff of the Institute of Machine Science (now the Academician A. A. Blagonravov State Scientific Research Institute of Machine Science) in Moscow. He became director of the institute in 1975. Frolov founded the branch of biomechanics dealing with the effects of exposure to machine vibrations and formulated the scientific principles underlying the theory of systems used to protect human operators from such vibrations.
