Friulians
a nation belonging to the Rhaeto-Romance-speaking group. The Friulians live in northeastern Italy, in the historical region of Friuli. Various sources estimate the number of Friulians between 350,000 and 450,000. The Friulians use Italian as their official language, while in daily life they commonly speak the Friulian dialect of the Rhaeto-Romance languages. Their religion is Catholicism. The Friulians have gradually been assimilated into Italian society. They engage in livestock raising, agriculture, viticulture, orchard cultivation, and sericulture.
