Its length is 950 km. The Gogra rises in the south of the Tibetan upland. The Gogra (as the Karnali River) crosses the Himalayas in a deeply cut valley. In its lower course it flows through the Indo-Gangetic Plain. The river is fed by snow and glaciers, as well as by rain. The high-water period is in spring and summer. Catastrophic floods occur.
