Location:Northeast Illinois, along the I & M Canal in the city of Morris.
Facilities:Primitive walk-in camping area, 5 picnic areas, 2 picnic shelters withrestrooms, playground, baseball diamond, horseshoe pits, 3 fishingponds, trails, information center.
Activities:Camping, boating (no gas motors), canoeing, fishing, hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, interpretiveprograms.
Special Features:Park is bordered on the south by the Illinois & Michigan Canal andto the north by Nettle Creek. A footbridge connects the park to thehistoric I & M Canal State Trail, a 61-mile trail on an old canaltowpath. The trail includes interpretive exhibits that describe thecanal and the era of canal travel. A stone aqueduct that was originallybuilt to carry the canal over Nettle Creek adds to the history of thearea.
