Established: 1969. Description:Works for the protection and restoration of Everglades National Park in Florida (see separate entry in national parks section). Monitors the implementation and enforcement of regulations designed to protect environments of Florida. Works to protect endangered species. Offers free public information services on environmental issues. Members: 4,000. Dues: $25/year ($50/year for families). Young Friends memberships are $1/year for individuals and $15/year for classrooms.
Publications: Everglades Reporter (quarterly); free to members.
