a city (since 1958) and center of Golaia Pristan’ Raion. Kherson Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 12 km southwest of Kherson. Landing on the Konka River, a branch of the Dnieper. Population, 13,600 (1970). The Kommunar Plant, which produces sewn goods, sporting boats, and other items, is located in the city as well as a creamery and a plant producing pressboards made of reeds. There is also a museum of the Black Sea State Preserve of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The seaside mud-bath resort of Gopri is located on the outskirts of Golaia Pristan’.
