释义 | Gilbert, AlanGilbert, Alan,1967–, American conductor and violinist, b. New York City, studied Harvard (B.A., 1989), Juilliard (M.A, 1994), and Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia. After serving as assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra (1995–97), Gilbert became chief conductor and artistic adviser of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (2000–2008), then music director of the New York Philharmonic (2009–17). He also was the first music director for the Santa Fe Opera (2003–7) and was principal guest conductor of the NDR Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg, Germany (2004–15). In 2017 he was named chief conductor of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (formerly the NDR Symphony) beginning in 2019. An artistic innovator and a champion of contemporary works, he won acclaim for his productions of Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre (2010), Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen (2011), and Stravinsky's Petrushka (2013). Gilbert also is the director of conducting and orchestral studies at Juilliard. |
