glicentin glicentin (glī-sĕn′tĭn) A 69–amino acid peptide secreted by small intestinal cells. It inhibits gastric acid secretion, stimulates insulin secretion by the pancreas, regulates intestinal motility, and fosters the growth of intestinal mucosal cells. |
