Geologiia i Geofizika was first published in 1960 in Novosibirsk. It publishes theoretical and methodological articles on the general questions of geology and geophysics and on the geological and geophysical study of the territories of Siberia, the Far East, and contiguous countries, as well as articles on the regularities of the distribution of useful ores. Its circulation in 1970 was 2,990.
