A clinical test used to identify a possible femoral fracture.Technique
The patient is seated with his or her knees bent at the end of the examination table. The examiner places his or her forearm or bolster under the patient's mid-thigh, and uses the other hand to forcefully push down on the patient's distal anterior thigh.
Positive test
Pain in the patient’s thigh implies a possible femoral stress fracture and need for an X-ray and prolonged rest.
