A gossip blog founded in 2003 that was part of Gawker Media, which included Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Lifehacker and other blogs. In 2016, Gawker filed for bankruptcy after losing a lawsuit over publishing a private sex tape involving Hulk Hogan. The suit was financed by Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, and Hogan and Thiel won a USD $140M judgment. Gawker Media was acquired by Univision and rebranded as Gizmodo Media Group (GMG).
