[¦jī·əns ′ked·əl] (geology) A cylindrical hole bored in bedrock beneath a glacier by water falling through a deep moulin or by boulders rotating in the bed of a meltwater stream. Also known as giant's cauldron; moulin pothole; potash kettle.
