Gadiach

a city; center of Gadiach Raion, Poltava Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the Psel River (a tributary of the Dnieper). There is a railroad station. Population, 13,200 (1969). There are cheese-making, brick, wax, and asphaltcement plants and a poultry combine. There is a cultural-educational institution. Gadiach has been a city since 1634.
