Arkheologiia SSSR

(Svod arkheologicheskikh islochnikov; Collection of Archaeological Sources), a publication published since 1961 by the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Its goal is the publication and systematic, scholarly summarization of material accumulated by scholars of prerevolutionary and Soviet Russia. It is published in individual issues containing an introduction, illustrations, catalogs of findings, and so on. The entire program is intended to include 400–500 issues. As of early 1970, 43 issues had been published.
