acute isolated myocarditis characterized by infiltration by granulomas containing giant cells.
A severe, idiopathic, possibly autoimmune-related inflammatory heart disease of young, otherwise healthy adults, which may be a virally induced immune reaction to underlying encephalitis, hepatitis, infection, intoxication, nutritional defects, thymoma, thyroiditis, Wegener’s granulomatosis, etc.
Prognosis 70% mortality
Management Heart transplant
