calcaneocavus foot
A foot deformity which is characterised as having:(1) A prominent heel surface;
(2) An elevated longitudinal arch; and
(3) A relatively plantar-flexed forefoot.
Aetiology
Cerebral palsy, poliomyelitis and meningomyelocele account for 50% of cases; 30% have no known underlying aetiology. Less common causes include Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, Friedreich’s ataxia, Roussy-Lévy syndrome, Refsum disease, Dejerine-Sottas syndrome, hereditary cerebellar ataxia of Marie and olivopontocerebellar atrophy.
