CakileCakile(sea rocket), a genus of plants of the family Cruciferae. They are branched, naked annual herbs. The leaves are succulent and rather thick. The lilac, purple, pink, or white flowers are in racemose inflorescences. The fruit is a two-segmented pod. There are 15 species, growing in Europe, Western Asia, North Africa, America, and Australia, predominantly along sandy sea-coasts. Four species are found in the USSR. Cakile baltica is found along the Baltic coast, C euxina, along the shores of the Black and Azov seas, and C. arctica and C. lapponica, along the coasts of the White and Barents seas.
