Dzhulukul

(also Dzhulu-Kol’, or Dzhuliu-Kol’), a lake in Altai Krai, RSFSR. It is situated in a basin at the foot of the Shapshal Range at an elevation of 2,199 m. Dzhulukul’ is of morainic origin. It has an area of 29.5 sq km and is 10 km long and 3 km wide. Its maximum depth is about 7 m. The Chulyshman River, which rises 5 km northwest of Dzhulukul’, flows through the lake. The lake is rich in fish.
