Dzhizak

a city, the center of Dzhizak Oblast, SSR. Dzhizak is located on the Sanzar River, on the Great Uzbek Highway. Railroad junction. Population, 26,000 (1970). Dzhizak has a cotton-ginning plant, a butter and cheese plant, a plant producing mixed feed, a building materials combine, and factories producing lime and bricks. A secondary speciab’zed polytechnic and medical and pedagogical schools are located in the city.
