[¦dəb·əl ¦sīd‚band ‚mäj·ə′lā·shən] (communications) Amplitude modulation in which the modulated wave is composed of a carrier, an upper sideband whose frequency is the sum of the carrier and modulation frequencies, and a lower sideband whose frequency is the difference between the carrier and modulation frequencies. Abbreviated DSB. Also known as double-sideband transmitted-carrier modulation (DSB-TC modulation; DSTC modulation).
