In the BCP, the patient is sits upright with the back of the bed flexed at 70º to 80º; the arm is allowed to hang freely at the side; no traction is required; the patient is positioned so that the affected shoulder hangs off the side of the bed allowing full anterior and posterior access
Pros Patient is more comfortable; there is no need to position the patient if the operation needs to be converted to an open procedure
