Eichenberg, Fritz

(1901–90) illustrator, printmaker; born in Cologne, Germany. He studied graphics in Leipzig, emigrated to the United States (1933), settled in New York City, taught at the Pratt Graphics Center (1956–63), and retired to Rhode Island. He is known for his scathing socio-political wood engravings and illustrations, such as Beastiarium Juvenile (1965).
