Employment Act 1982

a UK statute regulating the CLOSED SHOP and TRADE UNIONS. It required that a closed shop be approved by a substantial majority of the workforce and that where such a ballot had not been held recently, anyone dismissed for refusing to join a trade union could pursue a claim for UNFAIR DISMISSAL.
