Established: Authorized on October 19, 1996.
Location:In north-central Colorado, beginning at the eastern edge of the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest (see separate entry) and extending east through Fort Collins and Larimer County to Greeley and Weld County up to ¼ miles west of its confluence with the South Platte River. The boundary of the 40-mile Corridor is the river’s 100-year floodplain.
Special Features:Commemorates the role of water development and management in the American West. The legislation provides for the interpretation of the unique and significant contributions to national heritage of cultural and historical lands, waterways and structures within the Corridor.
