Location:Northeastern Illinois, Rt 6 Channahon exit off I-55.
Facilities:Primitive camping (no vehicle access) with pit toilets and drinkingwater in camping area, access to 61 miles of hiking trail, picnicareas, shelter, playground.
Activities:Boating (electric motors only), canoeing, fishing, hiking, picnicking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is the official trailhead for the 96-mile Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail (see separate entry). Channahon is an Indian word meaning "the meeting of the waters" and refers to the joining of the DuPage, Des Plaines, and Kankakee rivers.
