Ch’angtu

 

a city in China, in the Tibetan Autonomous Region; situated in the valley of the Lants’ang Chiang (Mekong River), at an elevation of more than 3,000 m. Population, approximately 10,000. Ch’angtu is a commercial and transportation center on the Szechwan-Tibet Highway. Its industries include the repair of motor vehicles and the manufacture of leather products.
