Field Crop Farming

Field Crop Farming

a type of land cultivation involving the production of field crops, primarily annual spring and winter crops (grains; such industrial crops as sugar beets, flax, and cotton; forage crops; melons; potatoes). The Russian polevodstvo (literally “field farming”) is often equated with rastenievodstvo (literally “plant farming”) in connection with singling out special sectors such as vegetable raising, fruit growing, and grape growing from the latter.
