Delta Heritage Trail State Park
Location:Between Lexa (6 miles west of Helena) and Cypress Bend (5 miles northeast of McGehee) in southeastern Arkansas.
Facilities:Trail (the first 4 miles of the 73-mile trail have been completed,from Helena junction to Barton, with trailheads at bothHelena junction and Walnut Corner).
Activities:Hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:A rails-to-trails conversion of a former Union Pacific railroad route,the Delta Heritage Trail is being developed in phases and will traversesome of the most remote and scenic areas in the Mississippi Deltaregion of Arkansas.
