(fon-se-sē'ă ped-rō'sō-ī) A slow-growing dematiaceous fungal species that produces skin and subcutaneous tissue infections (i.e., chromoblastomycosis). Infections usually result from traumatic inoculation. Conidial arrangement helps in the identification.
