Bytantai

 

a river in Yakut ASSR, left tributary of the Iana River. Length, 586 km; area of basin, 40, 200 sq km. The Bytantai originates on the eastern slope of the Verkhoiansk Range and flows mostly among its spurs. It is fed by snow and rain. Its largest tributaries are the Billiakh and Tenki on the right and the Khobol, Achchygyi-Sakkyryr, Ulakhan-Sakkyryr, and Kulgaga-Suokh on the left. The basin con-tains more than 2, 000 lakes.
