Dynamic Factor of a Motor Vehicle
Dynamic Factor of a Motor Vehicle
an index of a vehicle’s tractive and speed qualities, given by the formula
where Pt is the tractive force at the vehicle’s driving wheels, Pω is the air resistance to the vehicle’s movement, and VPν is the force of gravity acting on it. The dynamic factor, which is usually given as a percentage, characterizes the ability of the motor vehicle to develop maximum speed, to overcome rolling and grade resistances, to tow a trailer or semitrailer, and to accelerate.
