Emmerich, André

(1924– ) art dealer; born in Frankfurt, Germany. He studied in the Netherlands, emigrated to America (1940), and studied at Oberlin (B.A. 1944). He was a writer and editor for Time-Life International (in New York City) (1944–53) and Réalities (Paris) (1944–53). He founded the André Emmerich Gallery (1954), specializing in contemporary art and classical antiquities.
